It is said in Japan that women whose pubic hair stands up high on the mons veneris – standing like a pile of Nori on a plate of Soba noodles – are more into sex. Whether this is absolutely true or not, I cannot say for certain, although my own experience confirms it. Such is the case with Haruka Ito. What is most attractive about her, aside from her fresh and natural beauty, is the way she is into sex. She doesn’t over-act or get wild or anything like that; it’s more that she simply has a good time. She appears to want to please the men that she’s with and enjoys being pleasured by them. What more does one need in a porn star?

In all her movies she has the sweetest smile on her face – a smile that indicates pleasure rather than convoluted guilt. It is as though she is saying “Let’s have fun, sex is good, why not enjoy it?” Other porn stars – especially American – have faces full of contempt, hurt, resentment. They pretend to be sexy, but they don’t really seem into it from a deep place. Their scowls give them away. With Haruka, it’s different. She appears to be totally pure and totally sexual at the same time – literally uninhibited. Somehow, no one told her that there was any reason to think that sexuality was a bad or dirty thing; she appears to be fully remote from any Christian body hang-ups. Our bodies exist to make each other happy, so why not be happy?

The key is her lovely smile. Certainly there are other Japanese porn stars with beautiful smiles – Sarasa Hara, for instance – but none seem as pure and innocent as Haruka. It’s not a “kawaii” or “burikko” kind of innocence: if Haruka is putting on a show for men, she is amazingly adept at concealing it. Throughout her films she is always a good sport. Guys want to touch her, probe her body in various ways, have her suck them, and all the while she’s completely down with it. She so wonderfully easygoing in these movies. Both contain brief conversation sections that one can enjoy without knowing Japanese. She has a nice rapport with the actors. In the group film “Venus Fest 4” she acts slightly more kawaii than usual, but it’s all in good fun, and the film is excellent. Haruka looks especially good in the costumes!
